Open Archive Systems Releases New PageCommander Series

Easily Split, Merge, Repair & Convert PDF's and Scanned Files

Windham, NH; June 14, 2005 - Open Archive Systems, Inc., a leading provider of document and drawing management solutions, has released a new three part software series for managing, editing and cleaning up the contents of scanned and PDF files. With batch options, it also offers methods for improving scanning efficiency.

The PageCommander Series increases the usability of all scanned files. Users can manage file contents with page manipulation tools for merging and splitting files. With two conversion options, PDF to TIFF and TIFF to PDF, file needs for editing, document delivery and file storage are easily met.

A scanned image clean up module offers many features that improve the quality of the image, reduce overall file size and impact the success of capturing text (OCR).

File splitting, conversion and image clean up all have batch options for significant efficiency increases. For example, scan an entire group of documents all at once as one file. PageCommander can then split this scanned file (or an entire folder) according to various file splitting rules while giving each new file a unique file name.

There are three products in the PageCommander Series:

PageCommander manages the contents of scanned files in a TIFF format. It includes tools to add and delete pages, change the order of the pages, merge multiple files together and split one file into multiple files. Users can also save individual pages or entire files to PDF.

PDF PageCommander supports PDF files for splitting and merging and adds batch functionality. File documentation standards can be easily maintained without losing the ability to manipulate and edit PDF files. PDF PageCommander can also convert (or extract) PDF files to TIFF for editing with any Windows image editor.

ScanRepair is an add-on module for PageCommander and PDF PageCommander to clean up, repair and fix scanned images. ScanRepair has the best image clean up utilities on the market. You can choose to smooth and repair text and lines, deskew, despeckle, remove borders, crop and more. And, ScanRepair has batch options for even faster operations.
