Open Archive Systems, Inc. Announces its Software Alliance Partnership with eCopy

echive® and REnew Series Software are Now Integrated with eCopy ShareScan OP

Windham, NH - March 29, 2006 Open Archive Systems, Inc., a leading provider of document and drawing management and imaging solutions, announces the launch of two Connectors for eCopy ShareScan OP. The echive® Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP integrates with the echive Series, a cost-effective and proven document management solution. The REpair Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP provides one-step image enhancement utilities including image clean up, image splitting, file renaming, barcode recognition and more. The REpair Connector can also be used as an add-on to other Connectors.

As an eCopy software alliance partner, Open Archive Systems developed two Connectors using eCopy’s Developer Program and Software Developer Kit. Dave Wilson, President of Open Archive Systems, is excited about the new capability these Connectors bring to prospective and existing customers, "The Integration of eCopy-enabled scanning devices with echive and REnew Series software simplifies the indexing and cleanup of a company’s invaluable documents. Now, everyone in the office can easily incorporate day to day paper into a searchable and enhanced document library."

With any eCopy-enabled MFP device and an echive Connector, users can confidently communicate directly with the echive document management solution. This closes the gap between paper and electronic files. Users have the option of searching for an existing document and appending it; or, they can add index field information using the eCopy soft keyboard or an administrator-defined dropdown list to create a new file. Built-in image clean-up options ensure that the scans are clean and easy to read. Documents are then automatically sent to an echive database which has easy and accurate searching, viewing and printing. The echive Series integrated with eCopy for ShareScan OP delivers a document management solution that is easy to deploy, maintain, customize and use.

The REpair Connector is unique because it can be used as an add-on to any other Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP or as standalone with any eCopy enabled device. REpair uses the Open Archive Systems REnew Series of software to provide users with a one-step solution for improving image quality and usage. Standard image clean up tools are available including deskew (straightening the page), despeckle and crop as well as more sophisticated utilities such as removing borders, punch holes and grid lines and lightening or darkening the scan. The REpair Connector also splits a single image file into multiple files (and renames the new files) and removes blank pages. A barcode recognition module can also automatically split and rename barcode images.

Open Archive Systems will be demonstrating the echive and REpair Connectors at the eCopy Paper Connection Forum being held April 3-6, 2006 at Harbor Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
