echive® Planner
Windham, NH; June 1, 2000 Open Archive Systems, Inc., a software developer and solutions integrator releases the newest product in its echive line of software solutions. echive products provide data management solutions for both documents and engineering drawings.
The echive Planner is a tool to help companies make informed electronic archiving decisions for building large on-line or near-line databases. You input the types of files, sizes and quantity and the echive Planner will calculate the rest. The tool supports CD-R, virtual drive and various DVD formats to identify various storage options for office and engineering files.
First echive Planner determines capacity needs for various types of documents. Then it calculates the total amount of media required for your archival situation. A Scanner Analyzer evaluates the scope and time necessary to complete the job taking into account both operator and scanner efficiency. Finally a Scanner Selection analyzer will assist you in equipment selection issues.
The echive Planner is a free utility designed to help you coordinate and organize your active and legacy files. It is now available as a download to use as often as you like and will be available soon as a Java applet.
