echive^® Version 5 with Enhanced PDF Support

Windham, NH; June 22, 2005 - Open Archive Systems, Inc., a leading provider of document and drawing management solutions, has updated its echive^® software. echive Organizer and Explorer Version 5.0, with enhanced PDF support, and echive Indexer 5.7, with new user rights handling, are now available.

Many of the new features contained in this release are a result of feedback from existing echive customers. We maintain a close working relationship with our customers and will continue to respond to product suggestions with future releases.

The highlight of echive Organizer/Explorer 5.0 is the expanded PDF support. 100% PDF compatibility and viewing of multiple Adobe formats, including the latest Acrobat Version 7, ensures compatibility with the industry’s most accepted format for information delivery. An updated search mechanism in echive 5.0 incorporates actual Adobe Acrobat technology for full-text searching of OCR'd text hidden behind an image created in the PDF Searchable Image Exact format and PDF Formatted Text and Graphics. echive 5.0 takes the text search a step further and highlights the search string in the PDF image. echive Indexer 5.7 has a significant minor update with added support for user rights controls. echive Indexer now takes advantage of user permissions that are managed by the echive Organizer Administrator. Within echive Indexer, only users with Administrator rights can make changes to profiles, add property fields or make changes to a drop down list. Open Archive maintenance customers can take advantage of our Auto Update tool. Within the echive HELP menu is an option to CHECK FOR UPDATES. This goes out to our website and downloads the latest available revision.
