Curriculum Associates Selects echive^® Document Management Software

Windham, NH; April 15, 2002 - Curriculum Associates, a leading publisher of educational materials, selected the echive^® Series, from Open Archive Systems, to manage their extensive purchase order system.

Inception Technology, an Open Archive signed reseller, worked with Curriculum Associates to develop a solution. School district procurement systems are frequently paper-based and it is not uncommon for the PO’s to contain important hand written notes and signatures. Curriculum Associates needed to be able to access the original purchase orders from many departments within the company.

Inception Technologies installed a solution that scans the original PO’s using Kofax Ascent Capture software and inputs the data to an echive Organizer database. Kofax software captures a bar coded shipping manifest and indexes its associated bar code information. Then, this indexed data automatically populates property fields (such as shipping info, salesman ID, sales order number, school, etc) in an echive database. Curriculum Associates customized the property fields to meet their search and sort needs. echive Explorer was then installed on desktops for search, view and print capability. Now any department (shipping, customer service, purchasing, etc) can easily locate, view and print original purchase orders.
